SParTy~

Having a Debut is always something to look forward to when a girl turns 18.

It will become the most unforgettable "fantasy" experience of her life.

Debut is a tradition here in the Philippines, it serves as a "welcome" for the debutante from a young girl into a lady .

(The "debutante", as she is called, is a French word meaning a "female beginner", who is being prepared to be introduced into society and into a world of civic responsibility and social awareness.)

Debut are mostly extravagant where everyone wears fancy clothes and have an escort, but that's the traditional way.

In the 21st century, An extravagant debut is not anymore "IN" right now. Hence, A lot of people become creative and want to do it in their own unique way.

Hence, some were already making up their own themes, like alice in

wonderland, fashion show and etc... even though they differ, but there's always the traditional 18 roses, 18 candles, 18 treasures and 18 shots.

In conclusion, The debutante's ball ends with the dancing of both teenagers and adults.

TRIVIA: Did you know that boys also have debuts when they turned 21, but it's only optional whether to celebrate or not XD

Going back to the topic: SPARTY

Last January 29, 2011, My bestfriend Iya Ruiz celebrated her 18th birthday.

She didn't do the traditional debut party due to "practicality".

As a result, she came up with an idea to have a SPARTY.

(Sparty means SPA and PARTY, doing both at the same time)

These were the events happened during the day.

First, we all met up at the church to light a candle and pray.

Second, we went to the mall, to do some grocery shopping for the poor

and went to the flyover to do some charity work.

and lastly, we went to ICHIKO: spa and nail salon for the sparty!

[fyi, Ichiko just opened last January 28, 2011 :)]

When we arrived, we set up the food counter and drank some punch.

Then the delivery dude arrived with the big pizza

+ a heart shape pizza from the debutante's brother (so )

Soon, we started to eat the lasagna and pizza because our stomache started to grumble

after that, we ate ice cream for dessert!!!

Meanwhile, we started to try on the services of the salon...

For me, I had the Hello Kitty hair spa and Happy Nails

Unfortunately, A surprising thing happened during the party. (I won't tell the story hahaha)

[hint: The debutante became very stressed/happy because of an unexpected event]
